What Post-Construction Exterior Washing Does for You in St. Louis County, MO

It's natural to focus on the inside of a newly built building, but many people forget about the outside. This is why it matters:

  • First impressions can influence success, and for your building, that's the exterior
  • Dust from construction work outside can easily blow onto walls
  • This process likely requires a trained power washing expert
  • Without cleaning, your construction can feel lower-quality
  • Putting on a clean, new appearance reflects well on your brand

Due to all this, don't neglect your exterior when planning post-construction cleaning in St. Louis County, MO. And with professional power washing, you are investing in getting the most out of your property.

What Post-Construction Power Washing in St. Louis County, MO, Should Include

Post-construction power washing needs to address several areas of your property's exterior. It's not enough to just wash the walls and windows, then call it a day. You need attention to detail for all parts of your property.

Entrances

For the following reasons, you'll want to take care of your entrance first. Your customers' foot traffic will always go through them, and they are a major factor in first impressions. Unfortunately, because they are so high-traffic, they are often covered with contaminants by the end of a construction project.

Dirt and grime from workers' shoes will stain your entrance. A dirty entrance gives an impression of sloppiness and negligence. A clean entryway puts your best foot forward.

Windows

Windows matter both for customers and employees. For customers, this is how they see your products and services before they're in the building. Meanwhile, windows also fulfill a role in employee attitude. Smudges and films of contaminants are both offputting and prevent natural light from getting into your building.

Keeping windows clean after a construction project offers some challenges. First, carelessness while cleaning can lead to permanent damage. Second, improper or amateur cleaning often leaves streaks, leaving you with reduced visibility. Finally, some buildings, like high-rises, are dangerous to clean without proper equipment.

CleanPro is began as a window-washing company and are experienced in delivering high-quality washes for St. Louis County, MO, properties. We offer window washing services for retail stores, residences, and more.

Exterior Walls

Exterior walls are the third key part of your building's first impression. While work is being done on your project, they are exposed to a lot of grime, potentially paint, and dust. Over time, these can erode at the walls, causing structural issues.

Building exterior cleaning supports the health of your building: Removing grime, contaminants, and debris protects the health of your building. Professional cleaning protects your structures from the wear that can come from exposure to the world. From the very beginning of your building, washing the external walls is essential.

Patios/Walkways

It's natural for people to congregate around patios or sidewalks, both during and after construction. The concentrated use makes them vulnerable to a disproportionate amount of messes. As construction progresses, you'll eventually find yourself with a stained, debris-covered space.

If you want to avoid slips, trips, and falls, you'll need professional cleaning for your floors before anyone walks on the property. Additionally, if someone steps on a piece of rust, they could be exposed to tetanus. Professional St. Louis County, MO, post-construction cleaning defends the wellbeing of people on the property and protects you against liability.

Hardscape

Adding a hardscape project in your landscape can be very useful. But because they are exposed to the elements, they require regular cleaning to keep in good condition. During a construction project, they'll be exposed to anything airborn, and vulnerable to dust settlement from nearby work areas.

To properly wash a hardscape and minimize the risk of damage, call in the pros. Some are made up of a solid material like concrete that can handle power washing; Others need to be soft-washed to protect the material. Stains in particular are difficult to remove, often needing specialized cleaning solutions.

Roof

While it may not get the attention that your walls do, your roof is important. If improperly cared for, leaks can show up, allowing water into the building and creating an unpleasant environment. Neglecting cleaning can lead to stains, clogged gutters, and cause more headaches.

Not every construction project will affect your roof, but taller structures will. In these cases, roof care should be your first step, and your power washers can work down from there. Plus, regular roof cleaning helps protect every building in St. Louis County, MO.

Whether you've built a brand new high-rise or just installed a patio, you need to care for both the new and preexisting structure. Building a new parking garage next to your office can coat the office windows with dust. It's a good idea to clean your whole property, not just the new construction.

Top 4 Construction Clean-Up Mistakes to Avoid

If you want to start your new construction project on the right foot, beware of these mistakes people commonly make. Keep an eye out for these and you can set yourself up for success.

Mistake 1: Underestimating Construction Debris
Construction projects inevitably include messes. Don't assume it will be contained, no matter what kind of project you're working on.

Mistake 2: Obsessing Over the Interior, Neglecting the Exterior
If you've built a whole new building, it can be tempting to focus exclusively on how it looks from the inside. This ignores the importance of curb appeal and structural integrity, both of which are helped with exterior washing.

Mistake 3: Scheduling Cleans Too Early
You might be the type of person who wants to schedule power washing while the construction is still going on. This can be helpful in some cases, but keep in mind, your property will likely get dirty again quickly. Your final clean should be right after the construction is complete.

Mistake 4: Missing the Most Important or Hidden Areas
It's important to clean all of the key areas mentioned above, and it's also important to cover frequently forgotten spots (like fences and gutters).
