Soft Washing Defined

Soft washing is easily defined: A washing method that uses less force and thus is better for more fragile surfaces. It uses only about 150-500 PSI of force in the water and relies primarily on cleaning chemicals to effectively clean a surface.

Because it uses a gentler touch, soft washing is the ideal cleaning method for delicate surfaces like tile, wood, and many building sidings. Just because there's less force involved doesn't make this a DIY project, though: Chemical cleaners need to be handled by trained professionals to ensure safety for everyone involved.

When Do I Need Soft Washing, Pressure Washing, and Power Washing?

If you don't have experience with it, it's easy to mix up soft washing, pressure washing, and power washing. But when you work with a professional, they'll evaluate what you need done and pick the right technique for the job.

Soft washing only puts about 150-500 PSI of force into the water. In place of a strong jet of water, chemical cleaners do most of the work. The water used is normally at room temperature. The unheated, low-pressure water works best for soft surfaces such as composite siding.

Pressure washing is the next step up in cleaning power. In most cases, pressure washing uses about 1,500-4,000 PSI of unheated water. This is very effective against contaminants, but risks harming softer surfaces.

Power washing is essentially a heated form of pressure washing. It also uses 1,500-4,000 PSI of force. Power washing is normally used in industrial settings to get rid of oils and other tough-to-remove contaminants.

Each of these serves a purpose in the cleaning process. Calling CleanPro ensures that you'll get the right tool for the job at hand.

What Soft Washing With CleanPro Looks Like in Richmond Heights, MO

In our experience, every client has different needs and desires. In order to best fit your needs, we'll talk with you about how we can best adapt our plans. These are the steps a typical soft washing job goes through; but if any of them won't work for you, just let us know.

  1. Customer Call – The job starts when you call us. We can give you a free quote and work out the best time for cleaning.
  2. Arrive on Site – We use the same equipment for soft washing and power washing, so we'll be prepared no matter what materials we're cleaning.

  5. Soft Wash – Now that everything is planned and ready, we'll wash the surfaces.
  6. Evaluate Clean – Before finishing, we'll double-check the results and rewash any stubborn spots.
  7. Site Clean-Up – We minimize the amount of leakage and use methods like our vacuum recovery system to limit spillage.

We are committed to the safety of both the buildings we wash and the people inside. When you call us, you're getting a team that is prepared for all of your cleaning needs.

Why Soft Washing Matters in Richmond Heights, MO

Soft washing is about keeping your property clean and looking nice, but it's also about more. It also has a significant effect on human health, building health, and environmental health.

Soft Washing for Your Wellbeing

Soft washing protects the people who live, work, and/or shop on your property. It removes dirt and grime buildup that can cause slips and falls, immediately improving safety and reducing liability risks.

Cleaning can also help improve the air quality of the area surrounding your building. Mold, algae, and mildew can be dangerous to breathe. Professional cleaning protects your property against their growth. We will take care of your home or business as if it were our own.

Soft Washing for Your Building's Wellbeing

Even if it's not as important as the people inside it, soft washing also helps the building itself. How your building looks makes a difference: Professional cleaning boosts your property's curb appeal, which can help appeal to potential buyers, invite customers, or just provide a more comfortable living environment.

On top of mental reasons, there are structural reasons to regularly wash your building. Grit and grime don't just look unsightly: They also cause friction that eats away at your building's stability. Mold can similarly harm your building, while also attracting pests. Regular washing stops these issues from building up into something bigger.

Soft Washing for Your Environment's Wellbeing

Finally, soft washing can also have positive effects on your landscape. We care about the wellbeing of your landscape and use a biodegradable cleaning solution. The process also removes pollutants in a safe, effective manner.

What Materials Need to Be Soft Washed?

Pressure washing and power washing both work great on tougher surfaces like concrete. Softer materials are at danger of being damaged by the force, though. That's where soft washing comes in.

Most structures will include at least a few parts that aren't safe to pressure/power wash. We'll frequently see the following in Richmond Heights, MO:

  • Wood
  • Asphalt
  • Mesh Surfaces
  • Stucco
  • Composite Siding

Even if you need to wash something made of a tougher material, you might still want to consider soft washing. For instance, any painted or stained materials: For example, let's say you had a mural painted on the side of a concrete wall. Power washing would effectively clean the wall, but would also probably harm the paint.

Or perhaps you have some pieces of outdoor furniture. In some instances, the metal structure can safely be pressure washed without being harmed. However, if they include any cloth or painted sections, power washing can be harmful.
