Professional hotel exterior cleaning services for multi-story buildings

Why Hotel Exterior Cleaning Matters in St. Louis

Hotel exterior cleaning matters because of its impact on first impressions. When people arrive at your property, they'll be judging it based on its appearance. Professional building washing leaves you with a clean image that will impress guests. But the buildup of grit and grime will damage customer perceptions, no matter how good your service is.

Guest safety is as important as their perceptions. You don't want to leave a slick spot in your parking lot where customers could slip and fall, injuring themselves. Besides the injury and bad impression on the guest, this can cost you thousands of dollars in damages.

Additionally, keeping your hotel in clean condition matters for legal reasons. For example, Missouri hotel regulations include standards about cleanliness, including sanitation and structural integrity. Power washing your hotel exterior protects it from the buildup of mold, as well as removing contaminants that can erode the building's stability.

What Hotel Exterior Washing Services Should Include

St. Louis hotel exterior cleaning should be more than just power washing the siding: Yes, washing the main structure is important, but so are other aspects like your windows, sidewalks, and parking areas.

The Main Building

While the aspects below are also essential, the truth is that the main building is the most important thing to wash. People who see dirty, worn-down walls will leave bad reviews and not come back. Guests who appreciate your attention to detail are more likely to recommend your location to others and come again if they're back in St. Louis.

Windows

When people look through your hotel's windows, either for the main lobby or their rooms, they should have a crystal clear image. Natural light can improve the feeling of your hotel for both guests and employees. Professional window washing has the added benefit of helping you save on energy costs.

Parking Garage/Lots

Parking garage/lot cleaning might seem like a separate concern from hotel exterior washing at face value, but don't fall into this trap. Guests with cars will regularly be walking through your hotel's parking area. Car exhaust and constant traffic will build up contaminants over time. Parking areas are often the dirtiest part of hospitality properties.

Sidewalks

Your sidewalks are normally what connect the main building to the parking area, and maybe St. Louis at large. Similar to the parking area, high foot traffic makes these areas prone to being dirty. When scheduling hotel exterior cleaning, make sure to include concrete power washing services for sidewalks and patios.

Our Hotel Exterior Power Washing Process

CleanPro takes hotel exterior cleaning seriously. We are dedicated to giving you and your guests a safe, effective clean that will enhance your structure's appearance. We know that there are a variety of hotel types in St. Louis and will adapt our process to your needs.

Here are the typical steps for successful hotel washing:

  1. Building Siding - For most structures, we'll use pressure washers to take dirt and grime buildup off the walls. If there's graffiti or heavy stains, we'll use heated power washers for an even deeper clean.
  2. Entryway - Your entryway needs special attention, and we'll detail clean it to ensure you're putting your best foot forward for guests.
  3. Windows - Using a water-fed pole system and/or lifts, we can reach high windows and clean them with safe softwashing techniques.
  4. Sidewalks - Now that the main building is fully washed, we'll power wash the sidewalks surrounding it. We'll focus on high-traffic and stained areas to restore them to top quality.
  5. Parking Area - Parking lots and parking garages are an essential part of hotel washing, thanks to exhaust, oil stains, and wear from tires. Power washing and floor scrubbing will attack tough stains.

We use a proprietary cleaning formula that will effectively remove contaminants while remaining safe for your staff, guests, and landscape. This is effective on all parts of your property, no matter which cleaning method we use.

How to Prepare Your Hotel for Exterior Cleaning

Our goal is to give everyone a pleasant experience while minimizing the interruptions to your days; to do that, we'll need a bit of help from you. Before we power wash your hotel, you will want to take some precautions to ensure that both the building and the guests are all safe.

  • Pick a Low Traffic Time - We are flexible with both the time of day and time of year for your cleanings.
  • Give Your Guests a Heads Up - Tell your guests when you'll have power washing scheduled and let them know to avoid the areas while our cleaners are working.
  • Close All Exterior Windows - Avoid spills into the hotel interior, which could cause damage.
  • Let Us Know About Special Considerations - For example, if your building has exterior AC units, letting us know early will help us come prepared to work around them.

By taking these steps, you'll set yourself up for a smooth hotel exterior cleaning experience.

What Customers Look For in a Hotel

Customers come to St. Louis hotels with expectations, and unfortunately, you can't always control them. Reviews, trip guides, websites, and other third parties will rate and label your business, setting you up to deliver a certain experience for your guests. Some things, like hotel safety standards, make sense. Other times, you may be unfairly judged for something outside of your control, like a power outage.

Even though you can't control everything, guests will notice the efforts you put in. They will expect friendly service, safety, and a clean space. Hotel exterior cleaning directly helps with safety and sanitation, while making it easier for your team to provide high-quality service.

Hotel Exterior Cleaning FAQs

We don't expect everyone to be experts on power washing, which is why we're here to help. Below are answers to some common hotel exterior cleaning questions in St. Louis:

How often should I have my hotel exterior power washed?

While a common rule of thumb for the hotel industry is to schedule power washing at least twice a year, in St. Louis, the wide range of temperatures and precipitation often necessitates 3-4 cleanings a year.

Is there a season that works best for hotel exterior cleaning?

The best season is during your offseason. In St. Louis, that typically means winter. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that you shouldn't schedule power washing when it's freezing out. Because of this, late winter/early spring is often the best time for hotel exterior cleaning, after the snow/ice thaws.

Will you also clean the parking lot and windows?

We can! At CleanPro, we offer complete power washing services for your entire property. We are built on window washing and know how to treat them with special care to give you and your guests a perfect view. We also have the equipment needed to deep clean your parking area.

Can you also clean the hotel pool area?

Yes – we offer poolside cleaning services to help you keep the area both safe and appealing to customers. We bring the equipment for both pressure washing and softwashing to our jobs, so we will be prepared for whatever patio material you have.

Do you have insurance to protect my property from damage?

We are licensed, bonded, and insured for every hotel exterior cleaning job we perform. You can rest easy knowing that you're in good hands and have protection if something goes wrong.

What things do people overlook when washing hotels?

People often overlook awnings when cleaning. These can easily become dirty and grow mildew if they are left exposed to the weather, and require regular cleaning.

What can I do to enhance my hotel after cleaning?

After a professional wash, your hotel building should be looking its best. To highlight that, make sure that all exterior lights are working properly and don't need replacements. Cleaning helps take care of your building, while lighting highlights the work you've put in.

If you have any other questions before scheduling your hotel exterior cleaning, just let us know.
